I’m really excited to be included in a panel discussion at this year’s WordCamp Orange County on July 9-10. We’ll be discussing strategies for designing strategically with Michelle Schulp and Jacob Arriola.
Instead of a typical moderated panel, we’ve decided it would be interesting to do something that involved audience participation. Designers and non-designers alike can get caught up in the aesthetics and functionality of a website. It’s easy to forget that every decision made should be supported by an underlying strategy. After a brief discussion on how to find your site’s primary call to action, we’ll evaluate how these example sites embrace designing strategically. We’ll also look at how those design decisions help (or hinder) a user’s goals.
