I’ve always loved Adobe Caslon. It’s one of the first “big girl”, non-David Carson digital typefaces I purchased back in my broke-ass design student days. I love the sassy little bracketed serifs and the ear on the lowercase g makes me a bit weak in the knees.
There’s something about it that makes me think of reading my mom’s old library copy of Jane Eyre. Since the quote was about storytelling, I wanted the type to evoke old books. I paired it with Voluta script because I liked the idea of combining two different ways of getting a story out of your head and onto paper: handwriting and the printing press.
